Beer Style: Mild
(11A)
Recipe Type: extract
Yield: 5 US gallons
This recipe is in response to my girlfriend's request for a lighter version of the Sam Adams Honey Porter clone. The porter was nice, but dark (as Porters go), so Gorgeous George was born. It is a standard English Mild Ale that has been tweaked to blend with a warm honey flavor. Enjoy.
Brewed using the step-mash method outlined in Dave Miller's brewing guide. Boil for 1 1/2 hours, adding in the different stages of hopps at the appropriate time. I added the honey at the same time as the amber malt syrup, directly after steeping the crushed malts.
Final product should have a honey gold color, sweet honey aroma with a bit of spicy fuggle mixed in.
