Oatmeal Stout


Got this from the local homebrew supplier. It's a little over carbonated for my taste, but has a really good flavor and a nice finish.


  • 3 Lbs dark dry (DME)
  • 1 lb flaked oats
  • 12 oz caramel - 120 grain
  • 8 oz roasted barley grain
  • 4 oz. chocolate grain
  • 1.25 oz UK E. Kent Golding Hops (boiling)
  • 1 oz Willamette hops (finishing)
  • 1 pkg dry ale yeast
  • 3/4 cup priming/corn sugar

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 7-10 days
Secondary Ferment: 4-5 weeks

1. Fill 1.5 gallons of water in pot & begin to boil. Fill grain bag with flaked oats, caramel-120, roasted barley and chocolate malt. tie the end of the grain bag & place in water, while water continues to heat. Once boil is reached, remove grain bag.

2. add 3 lbs of DME & 2 oz. of UK E. Golding hops & boil for 75 mins. Add 1 oz of Willamette hopsto final 15 mins of boil.

3.once wert @ room temp, pitch yeast.

4. ferment 65-70 degrees 10 days.

5. prime in bucket prior to bottling

6. wait 4-5 weeks...enjoy
