Still pours orange. Not the straw color of PTE. Tasted with the master brewer, side by side with PTE. Superb head/ foam retention. No, no... not so very close to PTE. Massive orange flavor is gone, some bitter orange is still present, sharp lingering bitter bite. Nose is gone... unlike PTE there is no distinct fermented 'cat pee' flavor. This clone is much more malty-- much more even balanced body. Has none of PTE's unbalanced bitter cat pee hoppiness sitting on a pale, pale plain thin yellow base malt. Rating is still 4 starts-- but not 4 stars as a Pliny Elder. Its just 2 stars towards PTE...but 4 stars easily as a more malted DIPA.
