American Brown Ale


This beer tastes fine. It is brown, malty, and slightly bitter. I don't get much nutty flavor, so I would increase the chocolate malt.


  • 6 pounds, English Amber malt syrup
  • 1/2 pound, Light English dried malt extract
  • 1/2 pound, crystal malt (40L)
  • 1/2 pound, chocolate malt
  • 1 pound, light brown sugar
  • 10 HBU, Cascade
  • 1 ounce, Cascade (finishing; 5.8% alpha)
  • Wyeast English Ale yeast
