Description:

Super hoppy with hints of citrus. I can't know for sure that it tastes exactly like Two Hearted, but it tastes damn good and triggers memories of sipping Two Hearted pint's in the beer garden at Bell's in Kalamazoo Michigan.

Ingredients:

  • 2lbs 10oz - Lundberg's Organic Brown Rice Syrup (2 - 1lb 5oz jars) (60 Min)
  • 2lbs D-45 Candy Syrup (60 Min)
  • 1oz Centennial Hops (60 Min)
  • 13oz Maltodextrin (30 Min)
  • 1oz Centennial Hops (30 Min)
  • 1oz Centennial Hops (15 Min)
  • .5oz Fresh Orange Zest (15 min)
  • 1tsp Yeast Nutrient (10 Min)
  • 1oz Centennial Hops (1 Min)
  • 3lbs White Sorghum Syrup (Flameout)
  • 1lb Buckwheat Honey (Flameout)
  • 6oz Agave (Flameout)
  • 1 Packet Safale S-05 Yeast
  • Secondary Dry Hop - 2oz Centennial Hops

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 14 days
Secondary Ferment: 14 days

Procedure:

Boil 60 minute ingredients and add other ingredients as noted. Add Sorghum, Honey, and Agave at flameout to avoid burning. Maltodextrin improves the head retention. Hops used were pellets.

I am trying this recipe again with leaf hops from a friend who grows hops in Michigan.
