American Pale Ale

Description:

Pale ale made from sorghum and corn syrup

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Brewers Choice Sorghum Syrup (prior to boil)
  • 8.5 oz Corn Syrup Maltodextrin (prior to boil)
  • 1.75 oz Northern Brewer Hops (60 min)
  • 0.5 oz Hallertau Hops (30 min)
  • 4 lbs Brewers Choice Sorghum Syrup (20 min)
  • 1 oz Tettnanger Hops (flameout)
  • 1 pkg Safale US05 Yeast
  • Brewing notes: Converted from metric - measurements rounded/estimated

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 7 days at 68 degrees
Secondary Ferment: 7 days at 68 degrees

Procedure:

Bring waterto boil, and primary fermentable sugars, return to boil and achieve hot break.
Add hops and remaining fermentable sugars according to schedule.
Achieve hot break after adding secondary fermentable sugars.
Chill wort until appropriate temperature to pitch yeast.
