Beer Style: American Pale Ale  (10A)

American Pale Ale


Pale ale made with sorghum, rice and honey


  • 6 lbs Sorghum Extract (prior to boil)
  • 1 lb Dried Rice Extract (prior to boil)
  • 1 oz Saaz Hops (60 min)
  • 4 oz Maltodextrin (10 min)
  • 0.5 oz Saaz Hops (5 min)
  • 2 lbs Honey (flameout)
  • 1 pkg Safale US-05 Dry Yeast

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 21 days at 68 - 70 degrees

Bring water to boil, and primary fermentable sugars, return to boil and achieve hot break.

Add hops, remaining fermentable sugars and other ingredientsaccording to schedule.

Chill wort until appropriate temperature to pitch yeast.
