Beer Style: Lite American Lager  (1A)

Lite American Lager

Description:

Pre-carb taste: -Perfect amount of raspberry flavor and aroma and mixes well with the clove banana flavors of the wheat beer.

Finished taste: - a hint strong on the hops but other then that very nice body and head...the carbonation is the perfect amount and compliments the sweetness well

Ingredients:

  • 5.5 lb 2-Row (US) Mash
  • 4.0 lb White Wheat (US) Boil
  • 0.5 lb Carapils (DE) Boil
  • 1.5 oz Hallertau (DE) 60 min Boil Pellet
  • 0.5 oz Hallertau (DE) 5 min Boil Pellet
  • Hefeweizen Ale Yeast White Labs WLP300
  • 2.0 oz Raspberry Extract 1.0 min Boil

Additional Instructions

Boil: 60 Minutes
Primary Ferment: 1 week @ 62F

Procedure:

Mash rest was high (160 F)

Use less hops for boil next time

Added 4 oz of raspberry extract with 1 min left in the boil

Fermented 1 week 70 Degrees F - Will shoot for 62 next time...

Kegged at 42 degrees F and pressurized at 16.5 psi for 2.74 volumes of CO2
