Description:

Smooth, malty, slightly nutty. Low ABV makes it very sessionable. It was my take on Tallgrass' Pub Ale.

Ingredients:

  • 5 lb, 8 oz Maris Otter (3.0 SRM)
  • 10.6 oz Crystal 80 (80.0 SRM)
  • 10.6 oz Vienna (3.5 SRM)
  • 5.3 oz Chocolate (350.0 SRM)
  • 5.3 oz Victory (25.0 SRM)
  • 0.5 oz Perle (8%) 45 min.
  • 0.5 oz Fuggles (4.5%) 15 min.
  • 0.5 oz Willamette (5.5%) 15 min.
  • British Ale Yeast (Wyeast #1098) 1 package

Additional Instructions

Boil: 60 Minutes
Primary Ferment: 1 week
Secondary Ferment: 7 to 10 days

Procedure:

Treat water as desired to match style. Mash at 152 F for 60 min.
Boil 60 min.
One package of fresh yeast is probably sufficient with this low OG, but I used a 1L yeast starter.
Pitch at 68 F, ferment at 68 F
After primary fermentation, transfer to secondary for clarifying and conditioning for 10 days.
Carb to 2.1 vol CO2
