Dry Stout

Description:

Dark beer with a good grain taste. This beer is better bottled versus in a keg.

Ingredients:

  • 9 LBS. BRIESS 2 ROW BARLEY MALT
  • 2 LBS . CARA PILS MALT
  • 1 LB. BLACK PATENT
  • 1 LB. CHOCOLATE MALT
  • 1 LB. ROASTED BARLEY
  • 10 OZ. COFFEE
  • 1 OZ. CLUSTER HOPS 60 MINUTES (7.9% HBUS)
  • ½ OZ. NORTHERN BREWER HOPS 45 MINUTES (6% HBUS)
  • 1 OZ. WILLEMETTE HOPS 30 MINUTES (2.3% HBUS)
  • 1 OZ. WILLEMETTE HOPS 2 MINUTES
  • 2/3 CUP Priming Sugar

Primary Ferment: 7
Secondary Ferment: 6

Procedure:

MASH ALL GRAINS AT 150 DEGREES FOR 90 MINUTES. SPARGE WITH 170 DEGREE WATER. COLLECT 6 ½ GALLONS OF WORT.
