Beer Style: American Barleywine  (19C)
Recipe Type: extract
Yield: 1 US gallons

American Barleywine

This is a dark ruby ale not made for cheapness but it really makes a special gallon for a long mature. It is somewhwere in betweeen a Belgian Ale and an English Barley wine. As I rarely use a hydrometer I can't give an OG and FG but it has a decent kick to it, I would estimate at least an ABV of 5.5%

  • 1 pack medium spraymalt
  • 1 lb jar malt extract
  • 250 g crystal malt
  • 250 g sugar
  • 30 g Challenger hops
  • Ale Yeast
