American Brown Ale

Description:

This is an Amber/Red Ale. A slightly sweet red ale that ages nicely with mild malty character. Very easy drinking beer.

Ingredients:

  • 7 Lbs 2 row pale malt
  • 3 Lbs Honey malt
  • 1 Lbs Crystal 15
  • 0.5 Lbs Caramunich 60 L
  • 0.75 oz Cascade 60 min
  • 0.50 oz Cascade 30 min
  • 0.50 oz Cascade 15 min
  • 0.25 oz Cascade 0 min
  • Whirfloc 15 min
  • Wyeast American Ale 1052

Secondary Ferment: 7

Procedure:

Mash for 60 min at 152 F. Sprague at 168. Boil for 60 min. Add hops as indicated. Chill and add to primary with yeast. Primary for 7 days. Transfer to secondary for another 7 days. Bottle condition with 3/4 cup of corn sugar. Store at room temp. Ready in one week.
