Recipe Type: all-grain
Yield: 5 US gallons
My mom is a blonde, so I tried to give my dad a blonde he could enjoy in front of her. This is a smooth, malty beer with low to moderate alcohol content and a sweet, clean finish. It also brews nicely with strawberries.
Blend al grains in mash tun. Add 2.75gal water for target mash temp 158F. Mash for 1 hour. Sparge with approximately 4.5gal. Add 1/2oz. Hops at boil and remaining 1/2oz. with 15min. remaining. Flame out after 60min. boil and chill immediately. Ferment for 10-14 days.
If you would like to add strawberries, slowly add puree with 15min. remaining in boil. Be careful not to add the fruit too quickly so wort maintains hard boil.
