Yield: 5 US gallons
A hoppy but smooth recipe. Amber in color, great tasting and perfect for first time brewers
Clean and sanitize all brewing equipment
Boil 3 gallons of water and place in sanitized fermenter.
Bring remaining 2 gallons of water to boil in brew pot and remove from heat
Add extract and stir with spoon until all extract is dissolved.
Return to heat and boil.
Add 2 oz of cluster hops and time 60 mins
When 15 mins remains add 2 oz chinook hops
Hydrate yeast and proof if desired.
When wort is finished boiling quickly cool in a ice water bath to 85F
Add hydrated yeast to water in fermenter
Pour wort through a strainer into fermenter
Put lid on and shake for 30 seconds
Place airlock in lid and ferment for 11-14 days
Bottle and wait 14 days to enjoy
