Weizen/Weissbier

Description:

A dark amber colored wheat beer with a very nice Hop flavor and a mild bitter finish.

Ingredients:

  • 8# Wheat Malt Extract
  • 1/2 # Crystal Malt
  • 2 oz. Black Malt
  • 2 oz. Chinook Hop Pellets
  • 1 oz. Centennial Hop Pellets
  • 1 Pkg. Windsor Brewing Yeast by Danstar

Primary Ferment: 2wks
Secondary Ferment: N/A

Final Gravity: 1.013
Alcohol by Vol: 5.5%

Procedure:

Steep grain (I used bag) at 150-160 for 30 minutes in 3 gallons of water
After 30 min, bring to boil
Add Malt Extract and Chinook Hops and Boil for 50 minutes
Add .5 oz. of Centennial Hops and continue to boil for 10 Minutes
Flame out and add remaining Centennial hops
Cool down and pitch yeast
