Scottish Heavy 70/-

Description:

This smooth scotch ale starts with a sweet caramel aroma hits your tongue with a "is this a beer or a scotch" and finishes with a delicate smoke.

Ingredients:

  • 6 lbs Amber DME
  • 3oz Smoked malt
  • 4oz Chocolate malt
  • 5oz 60L malt
  • 1/2oz Cascade pellet hops (60 mins)
  • 1/2oz Cascade pellet hops (10 mins)
  • White Labs English Ale Yeast

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 5 days
Secondary Ferment: Tastes great after 1 week even better after 3 week

Procedure:

-Steep specialty grains at 154F for 30mins
-Remove from heat
-Add DME stir till dissolved
-Return to heat
-Boil 80 mins
-Add bittering hops 60 mins from finish
-Add aroma hops 10mins from finish
