Description:

This recipe is for a Dusseldorf style Alt. It is amber in colour, quite bitter and has a healthy taste of the Munich malt. There is slightly more than a hint of Hallertau flavour and aroma. This is one of those beers that you can enjoy anytime of the year!!! Enjoy

Ingredients:

  • Recipe for 22.5L
  • 3kg Amber malt extract
  • 500g Light dry malt
  • 900g Munich malt
  • 250g crystal malt
  • 30g roast barley
  • 70g Northern brewer 10%AA
  • 30g Hallertau 4%AA
  • Ale yeast

Primary Ferment: 4
Secondary Ferment: 6

Procedure:

Minimash grains for 20-25 mins. Remove grains, add water malt extract (liquid and dry) bring to boil. Add 70g Northern brewer (60 mins). When 20 mins remain add 15g Hallertau. When 2 mins remain add 15g Hallertau. Cool, pitch yeast as normal.
