Beer Style: Dry Stout  (13A)

Yield: 5 US gallons

Dry Stout

Description:

This is a awesome stout that's easy to make and will not disappoint. makes 5 gals. with a strong flavor or 6 gallons with a more milder flavor. extra ferment ables maybe add to raise alcohol levels.

Ingredients:

  • 6 lbs. dark malt extract (briess)
  • 1 lbs. roasted barley
  • 1/2 lbs Carmel 40L
  • 1/2 lbs chocolate malt
  • 1/2 lbs carapils
  • 1/2 lbs debittered black malt ( castle)
  • 2 oz Chinook hops for bittering.
  • Lallemand Nottingham Ale yeast ( or similar yeast)

Procedure:

steep grains at 155 F for 30. min remove and add malt extract and hops boil for 60 min. remove from heat take out hops let cool then rack into fermenter. pitch yeast. and let ferment for 10-16 days-age for 1-2 weeks. Enjoy.
