This smooth, brown, incredibly thirst quenching mild ale is not too bitter and not too light. It is full bodied and very easy on the nose. This one won't last too long!!!



  • 23L
  • 3kg Light malt extract
  • 500g Demerara sugar
  • 150g crystal malt
  • 150g roast barley
  • 150g flaked barley
  • 60g Northern brewer all in the boil
  • English Ale yeast
  • dextrose for bottling

Place crushed grains into pot, bring to the boil then simmer for twenty five minutes. Turn off, strain add to larger pot, bring extract and demerara sugar to the boil and add hops. Boil for one hour. Add irish moss/whirlfloc with ten minutes left to boil. Switch off , cool in ice bath for thirty minutes then transfer to primary fermenter and top up to 23L with cold water. Pitch yeast at 18-22 deg.
