Robust Porter

Description:

Balanced malt and hop bitterness. Hints of Chocolate and roasted malt flavor. Black, frothy brown head.

Ingredients:

  • 4.0 lbs. Pale Liquid Extract
  • 4.5 lbs. Pale Malt
  • 1.5 lbs Chocolate Malt
  • 0.75 lb Black Malt
  • 0.75 lb Crystal Malt, 60 L
  • 1.0 oz Goldings, 60 min
  • 1.0 oz Goldings, 30 min
  • 1.0 oz Fuggles, 10 min
  • White Labs London Ale Yeast (WLP-13)

Primary Ferment: 7 days
Secondary Ferment: 5 days

Procedure:

Mash in 12 qts at 163 F and hold at 150 for 60 minutes. Batch sparge at 168 F to collect five gallons. Bring to boil, add extract, and hops.
