Oatmeal Stout

Description:

very deep flavors. not overpowering

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs dme light
  • 3 lbs 2 row
  • 1 lbs coffee malt
  • 8 oz munich
  • 1 lb oat flakes
  • 1 lb corn sugar
  • 2 0z unsweetened baker chocolate at 15 min
  • 1 0z amirillo gold at 60min
  • 1 oz hallettauer at 30 min
  • 1 oz halletauer at 15 min
  • 1 whirlfloc tab at 15 min
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient at 15 min
  • 1 1.5 litre yeast starter white labs califonia ale

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: primary for 7 days
Secondary Ferment: secondary for 10 days

Procedure:

day one: make yeast starter
day two: add 1 1/2 gallon water(168) to mash hold at 152 F for 60 min add 1 gallon water at (198) hold at 168 for 10 min. sparge with 2 gallons at 170 F
boil for 60 min adding ingredients following ingredient list
