American Brown Ale

Description:

Made up this recipe as a brew I would enjoy. Dark and smooth yet light and chewy with a hopped up taste made in a peculiar way. Please give this one a try. I've had nothing but good reviews friends and family.

Ingredients:

  • 7lb Amber
  • 1lb Dark
  • 1 lb Crystal malt
  • .5 lb Choc malt
  • .5 lb Roasted Barley malt
  • 2 Tbs
  • All Whole Hops
  • 3.5 oz Northern Brewer
  • 1 oz Tettnang
  • 1 oz Saaz
  • 1 oz Centenial
  • WL Bavarian Lager Yeast (liquid)

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 14 Days
Secondary Ferment: 60-90 days

Procedure:

From Boil add ME and bring back to boil
Add Grains for 30 min and remove
1.5oz NB for 30 min and remove
1.5oz NB for 15 min and remove
1oz NB for 15 min and remove
1oz Saaz for 15 min and remove
1oz Saaz for 15 min and remove
1oz Centenial for 15 min and remove
Add Irish Moss and add Water if needed and boil for another 15min

Pitched yeast at 75 deg
Fermented at 60-65 deg ;)
