Beer Style: Old Ale (19A)

Old Ale
Beer Color

Description:

Very tasty beer. Inspired by Midwest's Superior Strong Ale, but with late extract additions, an added pound of DME, and treacle. I'm pleased. It was ready to drink in just 7 weeks after bottling. It's a very drinkable beer with just the right amount of noticeable hop flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 8.0 oz - Brown Malt (65.0 SRM) (Grain)
  • 8.0 oz - Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM) (Grain)

  • 3 lbs 5.3 oz - Dark Liquid Extract (17.5 SRM) (Grain)
  • 10.4 oz - Treacle (100.0 SRM) (Grain)
  • 2.0 oz - Mt. Hood [6.0%] - Boil 60 min (Hops)
