Beer Style: Russian Imperial Stout (13F)
Recipe Type: all-grain
Yield: 2.75 US gallons

Russian Imperial Stout
Beer Color

This barely "imperial" stout pours a dark, translucent brown with a nice sized khaki head which lasts as a thin cap the whole way down. It's got a wonderfully dark, baker's chocolate scent which follows into the first sip. It moves towards more dark maltiness and roastiness but never acrid or ashy or burnt. The end is softly bitter and full on the palate, not syrupy at all with a just-right big body, in my opinion. Three weeks in the bottle it still has a touch of alcohol in the finish as well, but it never seems overbearing or boozy.
